DEHARDUN: The meteorological centre on Wednesday predicted clear weather with almost no chances of rain and snow across the hill state till the poll day.
The prediction has boosted the spirits of party candidates who are busy in high-pitch campaigning and were worried about inclement weather playing the spoilsport.
Met director Bikram Singh said, “It’s a good news for candidates and for the entire election machinery as weather will remain dry from Thursday till the poll day. There will be no rain and snowfall in the next one week in Uttarakhand,”
The Met official further said that partial cloudy conditions may prevail over some parts of the state on February 12 and 13, but there is no possibility of snow in the hills and rain in foothills. “Cloudy conditions will be there for two days but there are negligible chances of any rain or snow,” said Singh.
Moreover, sunny weather will grace Uttarakhand on the poll day with no overcast conditions predicted.
The temperatures will also begin to rise from Thursday onwards and are likely to settle over normal level till February 15.
“Both maximum and minimum temperatures will rise and remain 2-3 degrees Celsius above normal level in the next one week,” said the official.
